Erectile Dysfunction Therapy

You used to never think about it. Now you think about it before sex even starts. What if it happens again? Maybe I’ll just say I’m tired tonight. You are not broken, and you are not alone.

I offer AASECT Certified sex therapy for erectile dysfunction, performance anxiety, and ejaculation concerns, to help sex feel like something you enjoy again instead of something you brace for. Virtual sessions across California.

Does this sound familiar?

You're in the right place if...

  • Erections come and go, and you never know which night it will be.

  • Things work fine on your own, but not with a partner.

  • You notice yourself watching and worrying during sex instead of feeling it.

  • Medication helps your body, but the anxiety is still there.

  • You finish sooner, or later, than you want to.

  • You've started avoiding sex, or waiting for your partner to initiate.

  • Your partner wonders if this is about them.

If any of these sound familiar, there is nothing wrong with you. This is one of the most common reasons people reach out to a sex therapist, and it is exactly the kind of concern sex therapy is designed to address.

What's really going on

Why erections are about more than just your body

Erections depend on blood flow, nerves, hormones, and a nervous system that feels safe enough to let arousal happen. When anxiety shows up, your body shifts into protection mode. Arousal and alarm don't share the driver's seat well.

That is why one difficult experience can turn into a pattern. You start bracing for it to happen again. Sex therapists call this spectatoring: watching yourself from the outside instead of being in the moment. The more you watch, the harder it gets.

Most of the time, erectile concerns have a mix of physical, emotional, and relationship pieces. Research on erectile dysfunction has long pointed to stress, low mood, and self-esteem as part of the picture, alongside physical health.

How Sex Therapy for Erectile Dysfunction Works

How I help

There is no script I hand every client. We start by understanding your story: when this began, what you've tried, and what you want your sex life to feel like. Then we build a plan around you. That plan may draw on any of these.

Taking the Pressure Off
Pensive Morning in a Cozy Bedroom.png

Sensate focus is a structured, step-by-step approach to touch that removes the goal of performing. It helps your body relearn that intimacy is safe, and it often brings pleasure back into the room before erections even come up.

Healing What's Underneath

Sometimes performance anxiety is tied to shame, past sexual experiences, or messages you absorbed growing up. As an EMDR-trained, trauma-informed therapist, I can help you process those memories so they stop running the show in the bedroom.

Working Alongside Your Doctor

I collaborate with urologists and medical providers. Research suggests that combining therapy with medication works better for many people than either one alone. If you're already taking something, therapy can help you feel more confident using it.

Getting Back to Pleasure

We work on the thoughts that spiral, the habits that keep anxiety going, and the communication that makes sex feel easier. The goal is not a perfect performance. It's a sex life that feels connected and yours again.

Should My Partner Come to Sessions?

That's up to you, and we'll decide together what makes sense clinically. Many people start on their own. Others bring a partner in for some sessions or for the whole process.

Erectile concerns rarely affect just one person. Partners often feel confused, rejected, or worried they're the problem. When it fits, bringing your partner in can turn this into something you face as a team instead of something you hide.
